Update from Modern English Tanka Press
The Winter 2007 issue of Modern English Tanka (MET 6) has closed its submissions period. We received record amounts of both prose and poetry. Some of the articles are now posted online in the digital edition, but much of the poetry will have to wait for a final cut. In order to publish as much as possible of the excellent submissions we received, we are re-formatting the print edition slightly to fit it all in. The print issue of MET 6 will still be 6"x9" and about 250 pages, but more tightly packed with wonderful tanka and tanka-related articles.
The premier issue of the new biannual, Atlas Poetica: A Journal of Poetry of Place in Modern English Tanka (ATPO 1) is rapidly filling up. Remember, the deadline is January 1, 2008 for submissions. You can check it all out at www.atlaspoetica.com. Submissions for ATPO must go to the Editor, M. Kei. Issue 1 is due out this coming Spring.
MET Press has been publishing so many fine new books that I thought it would not be good to send all the press releases to everyone, as they include bulky boilerplate information as well as the important news. All MET Press releases are also posted online at http://www.modernenglishtankapress.com/news/ where you can read them and, if you wish, copy them for dissemination or use in news articles or postings. Here is just a list of the current press releases:

=============================If you haven't checked out the new books at the MET Press website lately, you won't have seen the new Order Form that is downloadable/printable or the new illustrated Booklist PDF. There are links to these, and to the press releases, right on the home page at http://www.modernenglishtankapress.com/.
For those who are wondering, the Streetlights anthology is still in selection phase. We will be publishing it next month, we believe. Sanford Goldstein's collection of collections, Four Decades on My Tanka Road, is slated to be published in early December - you really don't want to miss this definitive volume of the tanka of "the father of tanka in English." There are a few more books that might make it out before the new year.
Well, that is what is happening here at Modern English Tanka Press.
best wishes and happy holidays,
Denis
