Ron Zheng announces his exhibit of illustrated tanka

For several years, I have been working on an art form that I call Poetography, merging English-language tanka poetry with black & white photography. And this coming fall I am going to have an exhibit of my Poetography works in Vancouver, Canada.

With Poetography, the tanka poetry is merged with the photographic imagery to create a dynamic tension that infuses new meanings into the words and images. I am hoping that this show will promote English-language tanka to a wider audience.

The following is the announcement I would like to make:

Leaving My Found Eden : A Poetography Exhibit
Vancouver East Cultural Centre
September 21 - October 17, 2007
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
and before evening performances

1895 Venables Street
Vancouver, BC V5L 2H6
www.vecc.bc.ca
604 251 1363

There is a gallery opening reception on September 21, from 5:00 to 7:00. I would like to invite Tanka lovers to see the exhibit and, if they have time, to come to the reception.

Ron Zheng
